I was delighted to come across the word verblöden, which my dictionary defines as "to turn into a zombie". But I want to be sure that I know how to use it correctly. Would it make sense to say
Ich verblödet. (I became a zombie.)
Or is this like one of those sich words that needs someone performing an action and someone to perform the action on, like
Er hat mich verblödet.
The root word is blöd, stupid, so I wonder if it's a state of mind, like
Der Fernseher hat mich verblödet.
Or can it be used in the monster sense, like
Der Medizinmann hat die frische Leiche verblödet.
As always, I appreciate any help with grammar and usage. This group has always been very helpful and patient.
