About help us find Baha'is in Europe?

Previous Entry help us find Baha'is in Europe? Jul. 17th, 2006 @ 12:18 pm Next Entry
I am trying to find a way to contact Baha'is in Europe so we can visit them when we are over there. I am going to Vienna, Austria (Wien, Osterrich) August 3 to August 27 with my 17 year old son who is no religion at the moment. I want to make an impact on him on how universal the Faith is and impress him when we are there.... a positive experience for him. We do an art seminar in Reichenau, Austria for the three weeks. We study with Philip Rubinov-Jacobson, Michael Fuchs, and we are visited by hopefully Ernst Fuchs, his father, and De Es Schwertberger, all of the School of Fantastic Realism Ernst Fuchs founded. It is similar to surrealism, but more mystical and spiritual and visionary. We want to go see museums as much as possible too. Baha'is who are artists are especially interesting to us. Please send any contact info to us. Our resources are very limited. Any one on LJ in Germany, Austria, or France please contact us. Our plane does a layover in Paris, but we have to go immediately to the next flight. I am thinking of getting a Europass, but even that is expensive. I have a goal of seeing the Louve, and it would be cool to see Berlin and Munich and Salzburg. An LJ friend from Barvaria who is not a Baha'i wants to meet us in Salzburg...... we might do this. I want to meet Baha'is in Europe to get a European perspective on things from Baha'is. I have been involved in the Faith since 1984 when I was 14 at the Rosenfeld's home here in Rochester NY. Thank you for any contacts. Any help in getting around cheaply is appreciated too. I do not want to miss the seminar that much, so , if any one wants to visit Reichenau at the hotel Marionhof to see us artists, please do! My free time is mostly weekends and evenings..... The hotel has a computer in the lobby that can be accessed. I will post my cell too or send it email to any one who wants it for contacting us. I am a native of Rochester, NY, did my BFA (fine art printmaking) at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and my MFA (computer animation) at Rochester Institute of Technology. I work in the public school system as a teacher's aide. My son is going to be a senior next year.

Why don't you contact the Bahá'í centers in Vienna. There is bound to be one, especially if my tiny little town has one.

If you really want to impress him, you could take him to Langenhain, Germany's House of Worship. Otherwise, a local institution should be fine.

Bahá'í is my favorite religion. I should convert one day, but eh.

Thank you. Keep investigating the truth. I can't tell any one what to believe. It comes from your own heart.

Frankly, all you need to know is that Bahai translated into English means "screw it." If you belong to one world religion, and your mother belongs to another, and your father to another, then that's all okay, because they're just diverse expressions of a universal faith, and essentially, the different "heavens" or destinies of those religions exist for each person to choose.

I weep for this world... : /

You are not accurate. Where did you get this belief from about my Faith?

On second thought, that isn't all you should know. My awareness of New World Order prophecy led me to these articles which tell you more about Bahai its role in the NWO. Read for more information:

I can direct you to better sites that show the Faith for what it is. Independently investigate the truth for yourself. What you have found so far is not accurate.

the person leaving the comment below has no idea what he or she is talking about! We believe in progressive manifestations of God, which means all the religions in this world come from one God, and that God guides us and manifests about every thousand years to guide us more as we mature as humanity as a whole, and right now we are in an age of maturity, and a new religion has come after Islam and after Christianity and the Bab and Baha'u'llah are a twin manifestation like Jesus and St. John the baptist were linked. We believe all the world relgions are valid. We also believe in the elimination of all froms of prejudice, that men and women are equal, in a world language, in a world government, and tolerance and acceptance. I do not know what this person below has experienced, but it is obvious to me that they do not know what the Faith is about. Google search and investigate the truth independently. The promise of World Peace was made to happen very soon, and a golden age to follow it too. We are not from different religious parents as the person below suggests. This has been around almost 200 years.

On behalf of my faith, I will tell you that Christianity is based upon the Bible alone, and its explicit outline of God’s law proves this Darwinist connection between Christianity and world religions to be downright problematic:

1. Not all world religions can be from the same god.

To assume that a world faith, such as Judaism, was just one of many in mankind’s spiritual maturity is self-contradictory. Just as it is today, there were many pagan religions, contemporary and subsequent to Judaism which had no part in God’s will. Elijah’s contest against 400 prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel attests to this in both Judaic and Christian texts (See I Kings 18:17-40).

2. God designed a standard of spiritual atonement for ALL TIME starting with the Mosaic Law:

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”
(Leviticus 17:16)

3. Jesus Christ consecrated blood atonement for future generations, not nullify or add to it.

He was not just a prophet (As Islam claims) or a mere manifestation. He was the God-in-flesh prophesied by Isaiah (See Isaiah 51) who was nailed to a cross to atone for all sins with His own blood. Paul the apostle, who had seen Him face to face, testifies:

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

And

“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame – who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:18-20).

Can you name one other faith that teaches salvation through faith in Divine Grace?

4. Jesus Himself taught that there will be no deviation in God’s divine plan until the end of the age:

“For assuredly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).

5. The guide for maturing believers is the Holy Spirit.

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of me.” (John 15:26. Also see the book of Acts)

I am not posting here to argue religion. I posted here to find a place I am looking for in Austria and germany! IM me or email me to chat more, so long as it stays respectful, I am open to discussions! I was brought up Catholic, and I found out that it is not the whole truth. you are only beginning to understand where I am coming from here. To quote scriptures does not mean you truly understand what they mean. All it shows to me is that you are a good student of religion. Read william Sears "Thief in the Night" and you will understand the Christian connection to the Baha'i Faith and have some information revealed that proves christ returned already. Also, read Abdul Baha's "Some Answered Questions" and that too will help with the confusions. I am friendly because I was where you were at a while ago and I understand what you are grappling with!

How can all things be valid if they are opposing? How can they both be true?

They can't be. As I pointed out in part 4 of my reply, God never sanctioned diversity or changes in the course of salvation and communion with Him.

All the relgions come from the one and only, God. I do not know how any one could believe each relgion comes from separate gods if they claim in their own doctrine that there is only one any how! That is not logical, now is it? It is logical, however, to understand that humanity has gone through growth stages, just like a baby and students going from grade one to tow to ten, etc, and college. You would not expect a first grader to understand college level lessons, now would you? The same with our relationship with God. God sends down Messengers revealing the lessons for the era they are revealed. Humanity had matured age to age just as human being mature year to year in understanding and development. What was revealed at one point was built on by the second , and it is all connected. All relgions have the same source: God. It is called "progeressive Revelation" according to my faith. Please seek the truth on your own to either confirm or deny what I am stating. Do not take my word, or any one's word for that matter, as truth. You need to recognize truth through your own mind and perceptions for it to be known as true and not just blindly followed doctrine your parents followed and taught you out of habit and culture. Be a seeker of truth, and truth will be revealed. i was not always a Baha'i. I was born Catholic, and I also was Muslim for a while after accepting the Baha'i Faith and leaving it to seek the truth, and I came to realize that Baha'i is the most recent message revealed to us from God in my heart and not just in my head from looking more closely at Islam, the religion that followed Christianity and preceeded the Baha'i Faith. I will end this blogg now, since it is not written in German. Ich spreche Deutcsh. But I am not fluent..... eine studente fur ein Jahre. I only wrote this blog to get contact info about where the centers were in Germany and Austria, and I did not intend for this to be a relgious discussion at all! Email me if you want to chat. or IM me.
